Mini Face Lift or S-Lift
A Mini Face Lift or S-Lift provides an overall lift to your neck, jowls and lower third of your face. It can make dramatic improvement to your face by tightening the sagging muscles and skin of the cheeks, chin and neck. It is a faster operation than a face lift, with fewer complications and faster recovery.
Is excess or sagging facial or neck skin is bothering you?
Is your lower face, jaw and neck an issue?
The Mini Face Lift or S-Lift may be your answer.
The S-Lift is suitable for middle-aged and younger patients who are not ready for a full facelift.
An S-Lift is performed using both general and tumescent local anaesthesia. It can be combined with facial and neck liposuction. Results from your Mini Face Lift can be further enhanced with subsequent laser resurfacing to smooth wrinkles and provide greater skin contraction.
Benefits of an S-Lift
- a natural look
- faster recovery time
- minimal risk of complication
- minimal scars
- no hair loss
Good candidates for an S-Lift
The best candidates for an S-Lift are those patients that:
- are in good health
- are typically between 30 to 60 years old
- have mild to moderate lower facial and/or neck laxity
- have realistic expectations and want to stay ahead of the ageing process
The procedure
The procedure is carried out in our day hospital using general and local anaesthetics. A narrow “S” shaped section of skin is released from in front of your ear. The skin is lifted, tightened and re-positioned over the underlying muscles and tissues. The opening is closed using fine sutures with the whole procedure normally taking about 2 hours.
How will I look after surgery?
A Mini Face Lift uses smaller instruments and fluid to separate the skin from underlying tissue resulting in an almost bloodless procedure.
S-Lift patients love the fact that after their procedure they don’t look like they had surgery. They just look great and years younger.
After your surgery, you must go home to rest for at least 24 hours. There may be some minor bruising and swelling for few days. You will need to wear bandage or tape over the incision site for the next two to three days. Any pain should be manageable with mild pain relievers. Sutures will be removed after 6-7 days. Direct sun should be avoided for several weeks. Most of our S-Lift patients resume normal activities after 4 to 5 days, and some choose to return to work immediately.
Are the results permanent?
Your lifestyle choices, bone structure, skin type, sun exposure and heredity all play a part in determining how dramatic your improvement will be. We aim to give you realistic expectations in terms of your result.
After the surgery and throughout your life, the normal aging process resumes but you will always look younger than you would have done, had you not had the surgery at all. In general, younger patients enjoy longer-lasting results.
