If you are seeking a 45-minute remedy to reawaken your complexion, it’s time to add microdermabrasion to your cosmetic vocabulary! Sometimes referred to as derm or microderm (or micro-dermabrasion) this invigorating treatment removes the dead outer surface of the skin with light abrasion, unclogging pores and leaving your complexion purely perfect.
Why Try Microdermabrasion?
Although microdermabrasion is an excellent maintenance treatment for normal skin, it also treats sun damage, dry skin, acne, blemish scars, sunspots, and fine lines. Our nine-step program can also reduce the appearance of raised scars.
For acne sufferers, fortnightly to monthly microdermabrasion will put you back in control of your skin. With maintenance treatments and a Skinstitut skin care regimen, microdermabrasion is a key concept in Australian Skin Clinics’ acne eradication system.
What Does Our 9-Step Microdermabrasion Involve?
- AHA/BHA Mask
- Peel (after careful assessment of suitability)
Every clinic takes a unique approach to microdermabrasion and at Australian Skin Clinics, our aestheticians tailor your treatment to your skin’s needs with our diamond-tipped machines.
Your skin is exfoliated by a combination of abrasion and suction, extracting debris from your pores and collecting dead skin. You will be amazed at how much is collected in the filter! To maintain the highest of standards, the tips are sterilised between clients and a fresh filter is always used.
In nine-steps and 45-minutes, we cleanse, apply a BHA pre-treatment, administer microdermabrasion and determine whether the skin can tolerate a peel. Post-treatment, your practitioner will apply a hydrating mask and sunscreen.
To reduce pigmentation, redness and broken capillaries, we recommend microdermabrasion combined with an IPL treatment in a photo facial.
Is it safe?
Microdermabrasion is a pain-free treatment with no anaesthetic required, however you will feel a mild scratching sensation as dead skin cells are exfoliated and removed.
If you have taken the acne drug Accutane or other acne medication, avoid microdermabrasion for six months after ceasing use.
